WebJul 10, 2024 · Birdwood Downs is a lovely oasis after the Gibb River Road. The Savannah huts are basic but designed to be airy and each hut has a lovely shady garden around it. The nights are alive with sounds - lizards, peacocks, geckos - and the dawn is a cacophony of raucous birds. The horse ride is peaceful - sandy tracks around huge, ancient boab trees. WebJust 20kms from Derby on the Gibb River Road Birdwood Downs offers a shady bush style campground for tents, campervans, camper trailers and caravans. The campground is accessible for 2WD vehicles. There are also simple and comfortable huts with double beds. The Station is open for camping and accommodation from 1 April until 30 September.
