With the throw of my rims, I have about 4" between the wheel well and the tire, if your rims tuck you tire in further, you might not have the clearance, but I'm assuming your rims have similar dimensions as mine, they're designed to go on a highboy.

L&L say's the body lift is needed because the steering column on those trucks stick through the firewall farther. The lift is needed so the steering shaft won't hit the headers.
